NEW!!! Newspaper Racks
Newspaper racks can be found at all street corners in every city and town in the US.
To print a newspaper is very inexpensive. You have control over the content, and can print it inexpensively all in color. Probably the most important thing is that everyone reads newspapers. To see how much the newsprint publications are in demand we set out to different locations in San Diego. We went to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, grocery stores, medical offices, yoga studios, clothing stores, wherever we went we found people reading newspapers. Just a few hours ago, when we were in Ocean Beach, a town in San Diego, we saw several people reading our newsprint publication. Most notably I remember a guy sitting in his Mercedes Benz, his expensive shining shoes sticking out the car window, the car seat bent back, he looked all serious while contemplating the content of our paper. Two days ago I walked by a clothing store behind the temple on Garnet Ave. when a 30 year old came out of the store with our paper in his hands. I couldn’t resist, I told him I was the editor of the paper. We ended up talking for about half an hour. He said he will come to our Krishna Lounge. (krishnalounge.com)
From business folks to high school students, lots of people use the newsprint media to expose the world to their messages. At least in San Diego there are several Christian groups who have their newsprint publications distributed at numerous secular locations. I even saw a Jewish newspaper rack at a Whole Foods health food store. In San Diego and Los Angeles you can find the City Beat, the alternative community publication. The San Diego City Beat prints 50,000 copies every Wednesday, and they all get distributed within a week. If they can do it, why couldn’t we? Just imagine the impact. Most publications, sorry to say it, don’t have a quality content. Their content is all light stuff, innocent of any serious study of life. Our publication, based on the teachings of Srila Prabhupada, the Vedic teachings, is sure to make an impact on it’s readers. Here is an excerpt from a letter sent to us by Ben, one of our paper readers,
“I’m halfway through the issue of 16 Rounds and it’s a pleasure to read. I enjoyed the article on evidence of reincarnation, and I think any intelligent person who reads it will see the logic in reincarnation.“
We are not going to discontinue our book-racks. The newspaper racks are an addition to the book-racks. Books and newspaper each have their own unique advantages and disadvantages over each other, all depending on the situation and circumstances. By adding the newspaper to our arsenal we are simply trying to reach out to more people.
So, if you’d like to help, we need graphic designers, we need devotees to contribute the content, and, of course, we always need sponsors. If you’d like to sponsor the paper it costs $0.11 a piece if we print 20,000 at a time. If we print more it will cost less. The racks cost $29 each. So far we bought 50 out of which 15 have already found their “home.” I guess in the coming days and weeks we will show you more pictures of our racks and papers. So it is all ready to go. Actually it has already started. We just need you to join in, help out, and spread the message of Lord Caitanya. To donate go to:
Check out these images we took when out there distributing the paper. A few images show people taking and reading our newspaper. One panorama shows our newspaper rack while the other panorama shows the paper on a rack in a cyber cafe.

Our newspaper is on the rack, to the left of the door.

Our newspaper rack has a plate with a large number “16″ on it.

A worker in a sushi restaurant is reading our newspaper.

This fellow is walking away with a copy of our newspaper. If you look closely you will see that on the back of the publication he’s holding is the ad for our Krishna Lounge.

Another curious reader takes a copy of our paper.
