The Amin Family

The cover image is misleading. The title of the text is “The Amin Family” but the cover picture doesn’t show the Amin family. It shows only Monique Amin, the daughter of Pradeep Prabhu and Jyoti Mataji. Monique is on the far left. The rest of the people are a medical crew Monique distributed books to. Now that we have cleared that one let us present to you the message we’ve received from Jyoti, Monique’s mom. The message will explain the cover and other images as well.

Hare Krishna dear Prabhus! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

We placed 100 books at the office of Dr. Parag Patel D.D.S. (our daughter Monique’s orthodontist), located in Corona, CA.

Dr. Patel already has a beautiful wooden rack, where he graciously allowed us to place the books. He did not want a second metal rack because he felt the kids may play with it and turn it over.

Dr. Patel and his assistants were very happy to receive the books as you can see by their smiling faces. They particularly liked “The Higher Taste,” “Coming Back,” and “Bhakti.” In fact one of his assistants, Sandra Garcia, while browsing through one of the books came upon a picture of Krishna playing His flute. She stared at the picture for a long time, as if stunned and finally commented, “It’s so beautiful”. Leticia Demski was very excited to see the Spanish version of “Easy Journey To Other Planets” and Estela Garcia wanted more of ‘those yoga books’.

I am sending, as an attachment, the pictures we took. Most of them were taken by my daughter, Monique, except for the one with her in it. Dr. Patel insisted that she stand next to him since she is his patient. Monique was not thrilled about this, since she is camera shy like me, but Dr. Patel made her laugh so she is actually smiling in the picture.

Recently my daughter and I placed 40 more books at Dr. Parag Patel’s office.
